Pipeline Inspection Gauge (PIG)
A PIG tool is used for a variety of functions within a pipeline, often for cleaning or taking measurements as it traverses the pipe.
How it’s important to us
PIGs are a critical tools in the oil & gas industry for keeping pipelines running and inspecting them to intervene before any problems arise. Often times, you may see a meter’s daily volumes fall off for a time with comments that it was “shut in for pigging”.
